Thank you to our members, volunteers, sponsors, and league/tournament players who made 2024 another big year for disc golf in Billings. You showed up – running events, fixing courses, teaching new players, and keeping the vibes high all season.
We had a great year. Here’s what we did…
Events & Leagues
- Spring Shivvver (Mar 9): Our annual non-sanctioned charity event for Tumbleweed—great turnout and great vibes to kick off the season.
- Spring Fling Fundraiser League (Feb–Apr): 36 players; PDGA-sanctioned; raised funds and momentum for Spring Fling.
- Scott Stokely Seminar: Pro Scott Stokely came through—skills, stories, and a packed Q&A.
- Hilner Glitch Mob (Apr 30): Single-disc “Glitch only” throwdown; everyone learned a new disc on the fly – Brandon Lessman took it down.
- Spring Fling @ Diamond X presented by MariMint (May 18): Sold out at 80 players with a $3,815 pro purse, w/ a 200%+ return across divisions.
- Pioneer Park Summer League (May–Oct): PDGA-sanctioned bag-tag league with dubs and mid/end handicapped tourneys.
- Spring series: 79 participants
- Fall series: 81 participants
- Diamond X Sunday League (Feb–Apr): Free to play; alternating Orange and Red/Blue; optional $5 ace pot for members. 5 aces paid $2,300 total.
- Big Sky State Games – Disc Golf (Jul 20): Pioneer Park Championship layout—another strong year for the State Games in Billings.
- Rockslide Open presented by Par Montana (Aug 10): Little brother to Spring Fling with added cash and classic Diamond X disc golf.
- Glow League (Oct–Apr): Free-to-play glow bag-tag league to keep the chains ringing through winter.
Community, Courses & City Work
- City Parks coordination: Ongoing meetings on maintenance and improvements; course adoptions continued at Diamond X and High Sierra.
- Diamond X “Whites” layout: Approved.
- Tee pads & infrastructure:
- Diamond X: Built up dirt tee pads/boxes (May 2, 5, 9).
- Vandalism repair: Multiple work sessions at DX (July) and Pioneer Park (Aug 18).
- Seasonal moves: Pioneer basket moves in Nov/Apr to keep layouts fresh.
- End-of-year upgrade: Paver tee pads installed at Red #1–#4—huge thanks to volunteers.
- Signage & wraps: Continued work across all city courses to make navigation cleaner and the parks look sharp.
- GoUnite (Jul 17 & Jul 22): Introduced new players to disc golf—club mentors paired up and put discs in new player's hands.

2024 was a win. More players, stronger leagues, upgraded tee pads, cleaner signage, course repairs handled, and steady city partnership. Let’s build on it—more baskets, more events, more community in 2025. See you on the tee.

2024 DGB Memberships: 2024 Disc Golf Billings memberships cost $20-. Members receive a MVP club disc. Members can cash in on DGB Ace pots and vote on the DGB Board. Memberships will be on sale at Sunday and Tuesday leagues or reach out to any board member.
